St. Ann School has a long history and a fabulous future. What once began as a school located in an old orphanage on Ellsworth Street, the School now boasts a population of over 200 students. St. Ann School is proud of its history and place within the community. A picture of every graduating class from 1940 to the present is on display in the cafeteria. Many students are proud to attend the school that their parents attended and in some cases, the school attended by their grandparents! Giving back to the community is also a valued part of St. Ann School’s mission. Food collections, putting on plays for the senior citizens and lending a hand cleaning the local area are all ways St. Ann School maintains a positive relationship with the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. Our Future is a bright one! As we welcome students from all over the City of Bridgeport, we widen our circle to include future generations that will be proud to send their children to St. Ann School.

From an award-winning yearbook to award winning students to an award-winning faculty, Saint Augustine School continues to offer academic excellence through a challenging curriculum to meet the demands of a changing society. Our Catholic tradition and strong values-based education prepares our students for the rigorous expectations of high school and beyond. Our professional and dedicated faculty and staff furnish a stable base for a diverse student population. Besides boasting faculty members who provide continuity and a safe, stable environment, we can also say that we have educated their children and grandchildren, as well. Our alumni number priests, doctors, nurses, lawyers, judges, journalists, artists, and entertainers; mothers, fathers, grandparents, and great-grandparents! Generations will continue to enjoy the same high standards as demanded by the Sisters of Mercy who laid the foundation for our Catholic teaching.

St. Peter School - K - 8

St. Peter School is located in the West End - the heart of the city. It quickly grew from four classrooms in 1950 to eight classrooms in 1953. A kindergarten was later added at the request of parishioners. In 1986, St. Peter School closed due to financial concerns and low enrollment. St. Peter School reopened its doors in 1991 when Bishop Edward Egan regionalized the Catholic elementary schools. The principal, Suzanna Zello, and dedicated faculty both lay and religious worked hard to create a family environment built on our motto, "Enter to Learn About Jesus - Leave to Serve Jesus." Our Student Council helps us live our motto through community service. From visiting a local senior apartment complex, caroling at a nearby nursing home, canned food drives, collecting pop top can tabs, and collecting school supplies for children in the Third World to raising funds for Ronald McDonald House, and other emergencies such as the victims of the Tsunami, our students understand our call to serve others. Our students come from every corner of the city and are predominately Hispanic or Black. They created a mosaic of many cultures and ages while they reminisced of the past and learned about the present. We are proud of our past and our present and we look forward to our future. Our mission was, is and will always be to provide an excellent academic education grounded in faith, morals, and values.
